WINDSOR, VT – Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) recently hosted its annual Volunteer Appreciation Tea to recognize the efforts of the Hospital Auxiliary and members of Volunteers in Action (ViA) for their contributions toward improving the lives of others through service. In addition, the Auxiliary, whose members actively promote and raise funds for the Hospital in the community, presented the Hospital with a $50,000 donation toward its capital campaign. (more…)

MT. ASCUTNEY HOSPITAL AND HEALTH CENTER EARNS SILVER AWARD FOR WORKSITE WELLNESS FROM VERMONT DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND GOVERNOR’S COUNCIL

WINDSOR, VT, April 4, 2014 – Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, a non-profit community hospital, has been recognized with the Silver Level Worksite Wellness Award from the Vermont Department of Health and the Vermont Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, a physical fitness and advocacy volunteer group appointed by the Governor. This marks the third consecutive year that the Hospital has been honored by the organization for its efforts to foster a healthy workplace, as well as the highest level of recognition achieved. The Hospital accepted the Silver Level Award at the Worksite Wellness Conference on March 27th, 2014 at the Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in South Burlington, Vermont. (more…)

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center Welcomes Back Physician Specializing in Pain Management and Anesthesiology

WINDSOR, VT, March 13, 2014  — Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) is pleased to announce that Dr. Peter Rauert has returned to the medical team as a board-certified Staff Anesthesiologist and as a specialist in pain management working alongside Ralph Beasley, MD.

Dr. Rauert, who first joined MAHHC in 2009, served as the Hospital’s Chief of Anesthesia until 2013, leaving MAHHC for a Pain Medicine Fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.  He completed the fellowship in January, 2014 and has rejoined the Mt. Ascutney Hospital staff.

In addition to his current work as a Staff Anesthesiologist at MAHHC, he is also accepting new patients in the Pain Management Program. Dr. Rauert provides care to patients who experience acute or chronic pain due to illness, injury, recovery from surgery, or other circumstances.

Dr. Rauert is a 2001 graduate of the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, IL.

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center is a recipient of the national Foster G. McGaw Prize for Excellence in Community Service, one of the most prestigious awards in healthcare. Founded in 1933, Mt. Ascutney Hospital is a critical access hospital in Windsor, VT and features 25 inpatient and medical-surgical beds and a renowned, 10-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit.
