Casagrande Builders, Inc. Joins Stafford Speedway Contingency Program

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Motor Speedway has announced that Casagrande Builders, Inc., of Stafford Springs, has become the newest member of the track’s Contingency Program for the 2016 season.  Casagrande Builders will supply a $100 bonus to each third place SK Modified® feature finisher for a total contribution of $2,200.  Casagrande Builders’ contingency bonus means that each third place finisher will take home $700 in winnings and a $25 gas bonus from New England Racing Fuel.  Casagrande Builders’ contingency award, combined with contingency awards from SK Modified® contingency partners Dunleavy Truck & Trailer Repair, Maybury Material Handling, Call Before You Dig, and New England Racing Fuel means that the total SK Modified® contingency awards are in excess of $13,000 for the 2016 season. Fitness and Fun at SEVCA’s Fools’ Run

WESTMINSTER– On Saturday, April 2, Southeastern Vermont Community Action (SEVCA) will hold its first “Couch-to-5K” event, named the Fools’ Run in celebration of April Fools’ Day. SEVCA’s Wellness Committee conceptualized the event as a way to encourage SEVCA employees and residents of the surrounding community to get active and live healthier. The event will also serve as a fundraiser for SEVCA’s housing assistance program, which helps prevent homelessness among at-risk families and individuals and re-house those who are homeless. (more…)

“Water, Waves, and Woods”

The next Art Show at the Abbott Library in Sunapee will feature local artist, Jean Cronin Connolly.

“Water, Waves, and Woods” will be on exhibit for the month of April with the Opening Preview Reception on March 31st 5-7pm.

The work is primarily oil landscape paintings which reflect nature in a variety of settings.

Jean, both a fine art photographer and a painter, originally from the Boston area, has been painting in oils for the past several years.   She also is the chairperson of the Center for the Arts in the Lake Sunapee Region which strives to support all the artists in our region. (more…)

Dancing with the “Lake Sunapee Stars

Coming this spring….

The first annual Dancing with the “Lake Sunapee Stars”. This event is sponsored by the Lake Sunapee Region Center for the Arts. Come May 14th to the Sawyer Theater at Colby-Sawyer College for this fun-filled and very exciting evening. It will begin at 5:30 with cocktails and silent auction. Showtime will be at 7:00.

Our Sunapee “Stars” have taken on the challenge to dance to win. This challenge is modeled after the ever popular ABC Dancing with the Stars, television program which takes place twice a year. How exciting it will be to see “our stars” take on the challenge in this exciting competition. They will be partnered with professional dancers from the Newport Ballroom Dance Studio, with choreography by Natalie Mavor Miles . (more…)
